Cavendish from the Farm

When I had to opportunity to review Cavendish Farms' new From the Farm potatoes, I was super excited. We really love the convenience of frozen potatoes, but lets face it, many brands fall flat. My usual frozen fries often left me cursing, by sticking to the baking sheet. I was anxious to see if these new From the Farm products would live up to my expectations. I have to say, that they totally did!!

Cavendish Farms is a quality producer of frozen potato products for grocery stores and restaurants. They have three potato production facilities in Canada and one potato plant in the U.S. All their grocery potato products use 100% premium PEI potatoes and are produced in New Annan, PEI. Being located near North America's prime potato growing regions allows Cavendish Farms to use only the best quality of potatoes. The use of climate- controlled storage facilities ensure a year-round quality supply of potatoes, and allows Cavendish Farms to handle them in a safe and healthy manner.

Being "The Potato Specialists" means that customers can count on consistently great tasting, high quality Cavendish Farms products every time –  a commitment Cavendish Farms have been keeping for over 30 years.

To put these potatoes to the test, I first turned the Rustic Reds into a hash, with some onion, Italian sausage and shredded cheese. We absolutely loved the earthy flavour of these potatoes. They taste like potatoes you would have peeled yourself. No weird frozen potato taste.

For the Straight Cuts, we decided to try them in the Ultimate Canadian dish- Poutine!! These taste like fresh cut fries and I loved that they didn't stick to the baking sheet, because if you look at these potatoes, you won't see that potato flake coating on them. Just straight potatoes!!

Cavendish potatoes are prepared with the skin on and are made with 100% canola oil and lightly seasoned with sea salt so that your whole family will love the delicious taste and home-style appearance. Oh and they’re also low in saturated fat! Which means I don't feel guilty about using Cavendish potatoes, to make dinner easier!
