Last night was the start of our Spring Break and the kids and I celebrated with a movie night. We had a picnic in the living room, while eating dinner, watching movies. When the kids requested popcorn, as their bed time snack, I wanted to surprise them with something really fun. I looked at my baking supplies, found some white chocolate wafers, sprinkles and Whopper eggs, and I knew exactly what I wanted to make.
This super cute popcorn can be changed for any holiday. Just switch up the sprinkle color and candy, and you could make it for Christmas, St.Patrick's Day and Halloween. Feel free to use any holiday themed candy you like. We happen to LOVE malted eggs, so of course I threw them in, LOL.
White Chocolate East Popcorn
6 cups of popcorn, popped
3/4 C white chocolate wafers, melted
2-3 Tbs rainbow sprinkles (Easter quins would also be so much fun)
1 1/2 C Whopper Eggs
Put popcorn in a large bowl and set aside.
Melt white chocolate wafers in a microwave safe bowl on 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth. Pour half of the melted chocolate over the popcorn and toss to coat. Spread popcorn out on a parchment lined rimmed baking sheet. Scrape remaining white chocolate into a zip top bag and cut a corner out of one end. Drizzle the popcorn with remaining melted white chocolate, and quickly sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles and Whopper Eggs.
Place in freezer for 2-5 minutes, to set up. Gently break the popcorn up into pieces and store in an air tight container.
