What's for Eats? Sunday May 3rd, 2015

Meal planning is a great way to save money on groceries and you won't be standing in front of the fridge at 4pm, wondering what to make!

Happy Sunday!! What a gorgeous weekend we are having, weather wise. Hubby is off today and we need to hit Costco to restock on some things and get groceries for the week. I am enjoying the warm weather, but I now have the kids complaining that it's too hot to play outside. Thinking of maybe getting a new above ground pool (just a small one), to help with the summer doldrums.

This week should be busy. I was asked to accompany the kindergarten class to a Domino's Pizza field trip. It was one of Queenie's favourite field trips when she was in kindergarten. The kids get a tour of the building, then are shown how to make pizza and then get to make a small pizza with a friend, each topping their own half with whatever toppings they like. Once we are done making our pizzas, the manager bakes them off and delivers them to us at school, for lunch. It's a super fun day and it's great to see how creative they get with the toppings.

My parents are also coming to visit this week and I am super excited! I haven't seen them in about a month and a half. The kiddos are excited too. Other than that it will be a same old week, where I sort milk on Wednesday and pizza on Friday. Here is what I have planned for the week

  • Grilled steaks with foil wrapped potatoes and veggies (potatoes, green beans, peppers, broccoli, onion)
  • Porcupine Meatballs in the crock pot, with rice and peas


  • leftovers
  • Crock Pot Chicken Cassoulet (new recipe) with homemade biscuits
  • Potato, Spinach and Sausage Soup (new recipe)
  • leftovers
  • Burgers on the grill, with pasta salad and veggie kabobs
